JAPANESE AMERICAN COMMUNITY GRADUATION PROGRAM
BOOKLET COVER DESIGN CONTEST
2008

The Japanese American Community Graduation Program Committee is sponsoring a design contest for the cover of the program booklet for the graduation dinner held in June. This contest is open to all graduating high school seniors who: 1) reside in the Denver Metropolitan Area and are either American citizens of Japanese ancestry or American citizens whose legal parent is of Japanese ancestry or 2) are of Japanese ancestry residing in the Denver Metropolitan area who have permanent residence status (INS documentation) in the United States or 3) have a parent who is an active member of Mile-Hi Japanese American Citizens League, Simpson United Methodist Church, Tri-State/Denver Buddhist Temples, Denver Nisei Bowling Association, Brighton Japanese American Association., Japanese Association of Colorado, Nisei Veterans Heritage Foundation or Fort Lupton Japanese American Citizens League. Students may enter a design for this contest whether or not they apply for a scholarship. The design for this contest may be an illustration, photograph, graphic design or a combination of these.

There is a $100.00 award for the selected cover design. The winning design will be used for the graduation dinner booklet cover with acknowledgment of the winning design.

Rules and Regulations:

Cover size: 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches
Color: one color or two colors maximum

Cover design MUST PERTAIN TO THE JAPANESE AMERICAN COMMUNITY GRADUATION PROGRAM. Artwork should be centered on the Japanese American Community Graduation Program. For further information contact: Lorraine Hisamoto 303-288-6083. A student may submit only one design. Your name or initials must not appear on the design. On the back of the entry, tape a 3" X 5" index card or paper on which your name, address and phone number are neatly printed or typed.

Deadline: Entries must be mailed and postmarked no later than Friday, April 4, 2008.

All entries become property of the Japanese American Community Graduation Committee Program and will not be returned. Selection of the program cover design will be made by the committee on April 9, 2008. The committee has the option of not selecting any of the entries for the cover design. The person whose design is selected for the program cover must furnish camera ready art to the committee by May 14, 2008. Help or assistance by a professional artist will be provided if needed.
